Northwoods students interested in attending technical college have another potential source of scholarship money.
Wisconsin Public Service Foundation is partnering with the tech college system to fund scholarships for students who live within the company’s service area and plan to attend technical college programs in the fall.
Foundation Administrator Karmen Lemke says this is the 53rd year they're making scholarships available to potential technical college students...
"....this year we've increased the award amount from $500 to $750 to students that are eligible. We are targeting students that are children of our customers. Customers in the Wisconsin Public Service area...."
Lemke says the scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors based on certain criteria...
"...we're looking for outstanding academic achievement, leadership in their schools, and leadership in their community and financial need. Students have until April 15 to apply. They can go to Wisconsin Public Service dot com and finding our scholarship page..."
Lemke says school guidance counselors will also have the information. She says the scholarship also helps direct students interested in energy careers to have more insight into that area.
