WXPR Classical Host Harry Marshall Dies

WXPR classical music host Harry Marshall, 69, died Wednesday, Dec. 10 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, Wi.

Harry hosted WXPR's "Midday Classics" and "Classics By Request" beginning in 2013.

Harry was a resident of Woodcock Lake in Lake Tomahawk, and a member of St. Matthias’ Episcopal Church in Minocqua.  He also volunteered at St. Matthias’ Thrift Shop.

Harry was a much-loved member of the WXPR volunteers. His love of classical music and opera was deeply respected.

Harry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathleen, his children: MAJ Harry (Amy) Marshall, Jr., Erin (Paul) Bierwagen, Kimberly Marshall, and Nicholas Marshall (Shino Takenaka), his brother John Marshall, his eight grandchildren, and his beloved cousins and nephews.

Visitation services will be held at Nimsgern Funeral Home in Woodruff on Friday, December 19th from 4:00-7:00pm. Requiem Eucharist will be at St. Matthias’ Episcopal Church in Minocqua , on Saturday, December 20th at 11:00am. There will be a short visitation prior to the funeral at the church, starting at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the UW Carbone Cancer Center, 600 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792, or Agrace Hospice, 5395 E. Cheryl Pkwy, Fitchburg, WI 53711, or WXPR public radio station, 28 Stevens St, Rhinelander, WI 54501.
