Zucker, Abrahams Coming To Eagle River
Hollywood, tourism and promotion all come together at a free event Friday night in Eagle River.
The Department of Tourism has launched a new ad promoting Wisconsin which was recorded here, says Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett...
"...we just launched our summer commercial spot and it was filmed, thanks to our friends at the Eagle River Area Chamber, in Sayner at Plum Lake at a location they felt would be perfect. And it reunited David Zucker, the producer of the movie "Airplane" and his star of (the movie) Robert Hays for the first time in 31 years..."
Klett says the ad is being shown across the Midwest.
Friday evening in Eagle River will be a public showing of the movie "Airplane" with another Wisconsin native with local ties. Jim Abrahams who co-wrote and directed "Airplane". He has a home in the Eagle River area. Klett tells us what is happening...
",,.we're going to show the new commercial spot we did this summer with his collaborator David Zucker, but we're going to make a huge announcement about Jim Abrahams involvement in our next commercial spot that I really think is going to blow people away....."
The event is Friday, June 28 at the Vilas Theater on Wall Street in Eagle River. A reception begins at 5 with the movie screening at 6 p.m. The event is free.
