Congressman Sean Duffy

A Marshfield physician has become the fourth Democrat to launch a campaign to challenge incumbent 7th District Congressional representative Sean Duffy.

Dr. Brian Ewert made the formal announcement this week. He says he's served the people of the district for 25 years as a doctor and he says he's seen the spirit of community and he wants to take that experience to Congress. Not surprisingly, health care is a top issue...

U-S House Republican Sean Duffy of Wausau said Thursday he will not run for the Senate in 2018 against Democratic incumbent Tammy Baldwin.

In a statement, Duffy claimed it was not the right time for a Senate bid -- and as he put it, "We have eight great kids and family always comes first." Duffy is in his seventh year in the House -- and he was reelected three times to the 7th Congressional District which covers most of the Northwoods.

U.S. House

Wisconsin Congressman Sean Duffy and 13 others in the U.S. House have signed onto a bill that would delist the gray wolf from the Endangered Species List.

If successful, it would return Great Lakes States and Wyoming wolf management to the states.

The issue has been hotly contested in Wisconsin and other states. Management of gray wolves were transferred from the state to the federal level following two 2014 U.S. District Court decisions that reinstated gray wolves under the protections of the Endangered Species Act.

House Republican Sean Duffy of Wausau does not apologize for calling Madison a "communist community" on Fox News.

He tweeted Wednesday that the "P-C crowd is humorless" -- and for those offended, he'll send therapy dogs to their "safe place of choice."

Congressman Sean Duffy says the PILT payments are set to expire this year,  but there's a bipartisan effort to break the logjam. ...

Two retired veterans of the U.S. Congress say the cooperation they experienced in the People's House has vanished and it's to the detriment of the country.

Funding for the Department of Homeland Security runs out at the end of February. Republicans in Congress have moved to stop the funding unless the Obama Administration pulls back plans to stop the deportation of 4 million immigrants not here legally.

The Weston Republican said there are plans to use funds gathered by Homeland Security through fees to keep the agency going even if Congress shuts off funding....

A showdown with President Obama is possible, as the House of Representatives approved the controversial Keystone XL pipeline Friday(1/9/15) by a 266-153 margin. 28 Democrats joined majority Republicans to pass the measure.

Earlier, the Nebraska Supreme Court allowed the pipeline through that state after a new course away from environmentally sensitive areas was drawn up. The proposed pipeline would first go to Nebraska then south to the Gulf Coast.

Fresh off a Wednesday debate with Democratic challenger Kelly Westlund, incumbent Sean Duffy says the next Congress will begin a long list of issues, with the top one being tax reform.
The 7th District Republican stopped by Rhinelander for a campaign stop Wednesday. Duffy says much depends on the make up of  the U.S. Senate, but he has a list of issues...
