A UW Madison professor is producing a collection of archival field recordings performed by musicians from northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan more than 70 years ago. The music ranges from polkas to waltzes and fiddle tunes.

Mike and Ruthy: On Pete Seeger and Colliding At a Christmas Party

Mike and Ruthy are a folk duo and married couple, former members of the band the Mammals.  

  They're headed to the Northwoods this week, appearing on the WXPR stage at Nicolet College.  To find out a little more about their background, WXPR’s Natalie spoke to the two from their kitchen in upstate New York.
