An ATV driver from West Allis has died in a Lincoln county crash.

The Sheriff's Department reports the crash happened Saturday evening in the town of Tomahawk. The unidentified 40 year old driver struck a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details were released other than the investigation is continuing.

A two-county high speed chase has ended with the death of a man being pursued by law enforcement. Lincoln County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Lieutenant Timothy Fischer says the incident began in Antigo and ended this morning and went into Lincoln County and the suspect vehicle was eventually stopped on Hillview Rd in the Township of Pine River with the use of a tire deflation device..

No other information is being released at this time.

Authorities have released the name of a person killed Tuesday on Lincoln county road "G" near Merrill.

The Sheriff's Department reports 30 year old Jamie L. Berna of Wausau died in the one-vehicle accident near French Ridge Road.

Berna was eastbound on "G" when her vehicle left the road and hit a stump.

A passerby found the accident scene about 6:00 a.m. Tuesday. Berna was dead at the scene. Pine River emergency departments also responded.

A jury in Lincoln county has found 50 year old Mark Bucki guilty of killing his wife and hiding her body last year.

Bucki was arrested May 13, 2013 after his wife's body was found in a swamp in Taylor county. Anita Bucki had disappeared several days before.

The 1st degree homicide verdict requires a minimum of life in prison.

A sentencing date was not set.

In Oneida county, A large drug bust near Rhinelander has led to the arrest of four persons for alleged methamphetamine use, production and distribution.

Two Lincoln county residents and one from Michigan are facing possible drug-related charges.

Merrill police report the arrest of 27 year old Michael Hedges of Tomahawk, 18 year old Jessica Rowan of Merrill and 28 year old Robert Sleik of Michigan.

Methamphetamine and multiple hypodermic syringes, and drug paraphernalia were alleged to have been found at a Tomahawk home.

The arrests come as part of a joint investigation involving Tomahawk and Merrill police departments, Lincoln County Sheriff's Department and the North Central Drug Enforcement Task Force.


A 24 year old man has received serious injuries after falling off a golf cart early Thursday morning.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department reports a call around 2:30 a.m. to Chapman Cove Road in the town of Bradley. Deputies found the man fell off the moving cart while operating on private property. The victim suffered neck and face injuries. He was first taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk, then airlifted to Aspirus Wausau Hospital. His name and identity were not released.
