Putting together ways to provide faster internet to underserved areas of the Northwoods was the topic of a forum held recently in the White Pine Room at WXPR.

People from a private Internet provider, government, non-profit coalitions, tribal representatives, and education discussed the need for economic development and connecting to the outside world.

Rob Riordan from Cellcom says in the early days of telephone, the government required a little extra from customers to be able to help serve areas without service. That model could work for broadband...

The annual WXPR Blues Cruise down the Wisconsin River leaves the dock, Saturday, August 24th, at 1:00pm.  We’re thrilled to welcome back Eric “Scrappie” Hughes. “Scrappie” Hughes is a delta blues man direct from Memphis.  He’s a fixture every week on Beale Street, playing world-famous clubs like BB King’s and The Rum Boogie Café.   Tickets are $25.00. The ticket price includes a picnic lunch on the boat.

Cobb Brothers Duo with Hand Picked Bluegrass

Shad and Jesse Cobb joined Hand Picked Bluegrass for a Live from the White Pine studio performance during WXPR's Bluegrass Saturday. Theresa Seabloom of WXPR's Country Legends hosted the March 23rd on-air broadcast.

We caught up the Cobb Brothers on their spring foray into northern Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Shad came up from Nashville and his work with the John Cowan Band. Jesse recently completed his work with the Infamous Stringdusters. The brothers were are taking a moment to collaborate on new material and explore creative opportunities.
