70 Percent Of Nicolet Students Have Financial Aid

en.wikipedia.org

A wide majority of students attending Nicolet Area Technical College receive some form of financial aid.

There has been talk recently of students across the country with large financial aid bills. Recently, President Obama has proposed a $60 billion plan to provide two years of community college for free, to help lower student debt.

Nicolet's Director of Financial Aid, Jill Price....

"....for students taking six credits or more it's somewhere between 70-75 percent of our students get some form of financial aid...."

She says students should check into financial aid...

".....we're trying to educate the students to apply for these grants or to apply for financial aid. They would be surprised to see what they qualify for....."

She says among the forms of financial aid are the Pell Grant, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, or subsidize or unsubsidized student loans.

Price says most students take some Pell grant money. She says if they have a need more money they will take either of the loan options. She says about 70 percent of the students on financial aid take the Pell grant, about a 1000 students. She says a consistent number of students dip into the financial aid pool.
