Artists Sought For Northern National Art Competition

Nicolet College

One of the Midwest's top art exhibitions is looking for submissions before the deadline later this month.

The Northern National Art Competition is a cooperative venture of the Northern Arts Council and the Nicolet College Art Gallery.

Nicolet College Art Gallery Director Katy Ralph says they would like to have more artists to submit entries...

"....we would love to have artists apply. It's the 31st Northern National Art Competition. The opening will be in September, but right now we are asking artists to apply and be part of this wonderful exhibition. They have until June 30 to apply..."

Katy Ralph describes the Competition...

"...the Northern National is a juried exhibition. We call artists from coast to coast, even Alaska and Hawaii. We look for a contemporary art show. Our judge is Mark Steven Greenfield from Los Angeles. He's a practicing artist. He will be here for the opening reception. He will talk about the show and his own art..."

The opening reception is September 29. Three $1,000 Awards of Excellence are presented along with several $500 Special Merit Awards. She says they love to have local artists participate.

Katy Ralph says anyone interested should go to the Nicolet College website and look for Northern National Art Competition where you can find a place to enter online.
