Final figures are in and the auditorium renovation project at Lakeland Union High School will come in $31,000 under budget for construction costs, according to Director of Business Finance Greg Kopp.
Miron Construction of Neenah won the contract with a low bid of $2,071,553 and completed the work last fall. The auditorium work and materials totaled $2,165,069, including numerous change orders for unexpected work, Kopp told the budget committee Wednesday.
The tax-exempt district avoided thousands of dollars in sales tax by directly purchasing jobsite materials, theater seating and theatrical lighting totaling over $900,000.
In another proposed LUHS project, bids will be opened next Wednesday to replace the stadium bleachers, press box, concession stand, bathrooms and locker rooms. The project still needs a school board vote to proceed.
