Nicolet College President Elizabeth Burmaster told staff at the college Tuesday she has accepted the presidency at Frederick Community College in Frederick, Maryland.
Burmaster was named president of Nicolet Area Technical College in 2009, succeeding Adrian Lorbetske. Burmaster is a native of Frederick.
More than 60 applicants applied for the Frederick Community College opening according to the Maryland college's website.
From 2001-2009, Burmaster was Superintendent of the large state Department of Public Instruction.
Burmaster will begin work in Maryland on August 18.
