Duffy Talks Tax Reform, ISIS During Campaign Stop

en.wikipedia.org

Fresh off a Wednesday debate with Democratic challenger Kelly Westlund, incumbent Sean Duffy says the next Congress will begin a long list of issues, with the top one being tax reform.
The 7th District Republican stopped by Rhinelander for a campaign stop Wednesday. Duffy says much depends on the make up of  the U.S. Senate, but he has a list of issues...

"....I'd like to see us at one point, get tax reform done. I think that's a big deal, making sure that our business, especially small businesses, can be competitive not just within our state, but within other countries...."

Duffy says economic issues continue to dominate the agenda...

"....we have a lot of jobs bills passed this Congress. We'll start working those jobs bills forward in the next Congress. We need to help families out. One is taxes, but two we have to have a common sense energy plan that will reduce the cost of energy, not just at the pump but also heating their houses...."

Duffy was also sharply critical of President Obama's handling of the Islamic State army...

"....I'll give the President credit for one thing: he was able to build a coalition of countries in the region, which is frankly historic. Kudos to him on that. But you also see the lackluster effort he's made with regard to defeating ISIS....."

WXPR will rebroadcast the Duffy-Westlund debate this Sunday morning at 9 a.m.
