Feingold Campaign Clarifies Tomah VA Comment

Democrat Russ Feingold's campaign Monday clarified statements made Saturday in Rhinelander about the Tomah VA and the over-prescribing of presciption medicine and the on-going investigation.

Feingold was quoted as saying, "".....it's shameful that the Koch Brothers and Ron Johnson hiding behind them are trying to make this a political issue. This is about the death of a veteran in 2014.(By then) of course, I'd been out of office four years. I was told his office had information from Ryan Honl, the guy in the ad, as early as 2011...."

Feingold's campaign said Feingold corrected his comment, saying Feingold meant to say Johnson received Honl's complaint in 2014 and that the first whistleblower complaint came in 2011 - both of which were after Feingold left office and under Johnson's tenure in Washington.

Feingold is attempting to regain his U.S. Senate seat he lost to Republican Ron Johnson in 2010.
