Financial Aid Sessions Planned To Help Students

en.wikipedia.org

Next month high school seniors and others have a chance to get instant help filling out the forms needed to apply for college financial aid.

Each winter, College Goal Wisconsin is held at a number of places around the state.

Nicolet College is hosting a session on February 27 at the Learning Resources Center. A few days earlier, February 24, a session is scheduled at the Education Center in Lac du Flambeau.

Nicolet College Director of Financial Aid, Jill Price, says by going to these sessions, many questions about financing your schooling can get answered...

"....this is a time when students, especially when they are doing or Free Application For Federal Student Aid, the first time, where they can go to any of these sites and get the help filling out the forms that they need...."

Price says completing the FAFSA is the first and most important step in qualifying for aid. She says the Northwoods events go a long way to helping students meet deadlines...

"....get everything done and get it filed in time for them to meet the deadlines for their school to potentially receive some state aid to get everything they need to be ready for financial aid for the fall...."

Students should attend with a parent or guardian if possible and bring specific materials necessary to complete the forms. If parents are unable to attend, students may attend alone and bring these materials.

Independent students should bring their own income and asset information. Price says even if you don’t think you will qualify you should check out what financial options you have available. More information is available by calling Nicolet College or contacting high school guidance counselors or by going to the websiteCollegeGoalWisconsin.org
