Heritage Fest to Celebrate Northwoods Roots

Next weekend, June 29-30, a festival in Three Lakes highlights the heritages that make up the Northwoods.

The Northwoods Heritage Fest in Three Lakes Saturday and Sunday features a full festival dedicated  to German, Italian, Polish, Irish and Wisconsin, USA,  and Three Lakes heritages.
Skip Brunswick from the Three Lakes Chamber says there will be much to see.

"....we're bringing in Irish dancers and an Irish quartet. We're going to have All-American Lumberjack Shows...a chainsaw carver on Sunday...we have live entertainment going from 10 o'clock Saturday until 9 at night and Sunday from 11 until 9 p.m..."

A new large pavilion is featured with beverages from around the world. But the focus is on genealogical backgrounds, and Brunswick says computers will be set up to have visitors check their backgrounds. Food will also be a focus.

"....and for them to experience the different cuisines as well as their cultural traits and history...."

The free festival is at the Three Lakes High School Athletic grounds. Shuttle parking is available. The Three Lakes Chamber of Commerce has more information.
