Last week the state released figures showing four of the 9 counties with the highest unemployment rates in Wisconsin were in this region. This week a Job Fair is being held in Rhinelander to possibly lower those rates.

The Job Fair is co-sponsored by Nicolet Area Technical College, Northern Advantage Job Center and the North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board.

One of the organizers is Angeline Kesler from Forward Service Corporation....

".....we have local employers seeking job seekers meeting at the Quality Inn looking for anyone who is interested in entry level or other specific positions. At this time we have 23 employers and we're welcoming all area job seekers to come in and meet with those employers...."

Kesler named some of the employers signed up...

"......we have everyone from Aspirus, AFLAC, First Weber Group of Realtors, HyPro, Bankers Life, Walgreens, Lake of the Torches Resort and Casino, Foster and Smith, we have a wide variety of employers coming....."

Kesler says applicants should come dressed for an interview and have a thirty-second speech about themselves prepared, along with a resume. The Job Fair is Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Quality Inn Conference Center on West Kemp Street.
