A film festival by, about and for women returns to Three Lakes this weekend.
Lunafest is a fundraising film festival dedicated to promoting awareness about women's issues. The event is hosted by Wisconsin Women Equal Prosperity. Spokesperson Brenda Halminiak says the short films touch many topics...
"...the films are short films produced by women filmmakers and they include a number of topics including women's health, motherhood, aging, body image, cultural diversity and others...."
The admission will help several organizations including the Breast Cancer Fund and the Whole Nutrition Bar For Women. Brenda Halminiak says the remaining funds will be used to raise the grade for women in the Northwoods.
The event is Friday, April 10 at the Three Lakes Center for the Arts theater in downtown Three Lakes. A silent auction begins at 6:30 p.m. with the films shown at 7:00 p.m.
