Northwoods Chambers Join "Big Bundle Up"

Wisconsin Department of Tourism

The weather is turning colder and the timing is right for the Department of Tourism's 6th annual Big Bundle Up promotion designed to get warm winter clothing to those in need.

The Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce is one collection point in the Northwoods. Chamber Director Theresa Smith says donations are being accepted....

"....we're looking for hats and coats, mittens, gloves, scarves....anything warm...we've even had boots donated in the past. Items for families that could use the clothing as the winter comes in...."

The Boulder Junction Chamber office is located on Highway "M" in downtown Boulder Junction. Smith says the public can just stop by with donations....

".....here in Boulder Junction they can bring them to the Chamber. We're open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Anytime we're open you're welcome to drop those off through January 2. In Boulder Junction we're planning to donate those items to the Community Food Pantry...."

The Big Bundle Campaign runs through January 2nd. Tourism officials say statewide, more than 71,000 items have been donated. Other donations sites around the Northwoods include the Chamber of Commerce offices in Crandon, Hurley, Land O' Lakes, Minocqua, Phelps, Presque Isle, and Rhinelander.
