Northwoods Research Summit To Focus On Preserving Water Resources

Several years ago groups noticed the Northwoods has a large number of research organizations, both in the public and private sectors. This began the annual Northwoods Research Summit, held at UWSP  Treehaven near Tomahawk. This year the annual Summit is set for April 23 and will focus on our water resources.

Summit spokesperson Dan Kuzlik.......

"....the title to this year's summit is 'Northwoods Gold: Protecting Our Water Wealth'. We think up here in the Northwoods protecting our water, our fresh waters, is very important, and that includes lakes, rivers and streams, but groundwaters...."

The Summit brings together leaders, citizens and researchers to discuss the scientific, cultural, and economic value of water. Kuzlik says the goal  is to exchange knowledge, foster relationships, and promote actions to protect our waters. Lunch is included with the registrations.

Keynote speaker is George Kraft, the Director for the Center for  Watershed Science and Education at UW-Stevens Point.

He says registrations are open and more information can be found if you Google Northwoods Research Summitor  Treehavennear Tomahawk. The deadline to register is Friday.
