One person has died in a house fire early Monday near Conover.
The Vilas County Sheriff's Department reports getting a call at 3:23 a.m. concerning a structure fire at 3179 U.S. 45 in the town of Conover.
Reports say fire units first on the scene found the residence to be fully engulfed upon arrival. The fire was put out and one person was found dead in the residence.
Conover, Plum Lake and Eagle River Fire Departments responded.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by state and local officials.
