Oneida Non-Profits Could Benefit From Leadership OC

openclipart.org

Non-profit organizations in Oneida county are invited to submit applications to see if a project could help local residents.

Leadership Oneida County is a nine-month program cultivating local leaders,  creating an awareness of services and organizations in Oneida county.

One of the sponsoring agencies is the Rhinelander Chamber of Commerce. Executive Director Dana DeMet says Leadership participants need to complete a community service project in order to graduate...

"....Leadership Oneida County is seeking community organizations who would like some help in either solving a problem, completing a project or generally helping out their organization..."

He says the best programs are those that work on a more complicated issue, rather than a one day clean up as an example. He says while most non-profits need help fundraising, that is one area where the candidates don't do projects. He says successful past projects centered on getting more exposure for the non-profit....

"....if your interested in that and having our people help out, they should get in contact the Chamber of Commerce. Go on our website. There is a very short application where you simply describe the project or problem you're having. We'll review those and present them to our leadership candidates...."

Application deadline is December 5.
