Open House For New Habitat For Humanity NW Home

en.wikipedia.org

The 19th home built by the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate will be open for public view this Saturday in Rhinelander.

This home was built by the Rhinelander High School Trades Class. Habitat for Humanity Northwoods serves Vilas and Oneida counties.

Jim Hohman from Habitat for Humanity Northwoods says this home has some unique features...

"....a certified energy-efficient home. There will be some photovoltaics installed on the roof. It's a family of four, it's a beautiful little home...."

Hohman says the home is very energy efficient and will help the family more easily afford the home. The family will have a no-interest mortgage through Habitat for Humanity tailored to the family's needs. He says Habitat is a construction company when building the house and they become a type of bank when done.

The open house is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The home is one West Hill Drive and 1504 Balsam Street on Rhinelander's west side.
