Public Input Sought On Future Of Rhinelander Parks

en.wikipedia.org

Public input is being sought early next month by the city of Rhinelander on how the public would like to see the parks used. The city is hosting two community input sessions on September 8.

City Administrator Kristina Aschenbrenner says the city is working on a master parks plan...

".....we have a comprehensive plan for our parks. When we make decisions it's in step with that major plan. This is an opportunity to get ideas on future development, infrastructure, amenities, the identities of every park and what they are used for...."

She says the input session are not just for city residents...

"....we're opening it up to everyone. We did this survey for all our city residents but there's a lot of people who come into the city for work and play as well. We want to get everyone's input on this...."

Myles Alexander of the Oneida County UW-Extension will facilitate the sessions. The ideas that come out will be forwarded to the related city committee for future discussion.

Two sessions will be held September 8 at the Quality Inn in Rhinelander. The first session is from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and again from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. that evening.
