An event that for decades has meant funds to help people with a variety of physical problems returns this weekend to Rhinelander.

The 40th Annual Rhinelander Lions Club Fisheree and Winter Festival is being held Saturday and Sunday from 7 to 3 each day on Boom Lake. Club spokesperson Harry Helwig says the money raised go to help between 20 and 30 organizations in the area and to other groups...

".....boys clubs, girls clubs. A lot of the money goes to the WisconsinLions Camp in Rosholt where we send children who are hearing impaired, cognitively disabled. We also send money to the Wisconsin Lions Eyebank for eye transplants, cornea transplants..."

Prizes are awarded to the largest fish caught in certain categories. Tickets are available from merchants in the community.

More information is available on the Rhinelander Chamber of Commerce website.
