SDR-Oneida Co. To Host Mass Flu Clinics

en.wikipedia.org

Two mass flu clinics are being held this month and next at Rhinelander High School.

School District of Rhinelander District Nurse Kerri Schmidt says the event is designed for people in all walks of life...

"....we want to get our school age kids as well as people from our community. It's not limited to any one in the school district, it's anyone in the county if you want to come in to get a shot to protect yourself from getting the flu....."

The flu vaccine is free for persons 18 and under. There is a charge for adults. Schmidt says it is recommended all people six months and older get the flu shot. Some people are at higher risk of getting the flu, including children, pregnant women, people over age 50 and others with chronic medical conditions. Schmidt has some advice...

"....there's always, 'wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands.' We can't stress that enough..."

The shots are offered by the Oneida County Health Department.

The first mass flu clinic is set for Tuesday, October 25 from 4-7 p.m., with the second, Thursday, November 17 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the school district cafeteria. More information is available on the School District of Rhinelander website.
