openclipart.org

Today is the spring election in Wisconsin.

Statewide  incumbent  Supreme Court Justice Ann Walsh-Bradley is challenged by Rock County Judge James Daley for a spot on the top court. Voters will see a question whether to change the state constitution to enable the Justices to elect the Chief Justice or whether it should remain going to the Justice with the most seniority. There is also a race for the state appeals court. Langlade county is also electing a circuit court judge.

In Antigo, incumbent Mayor Bill Brandt is challenged by Roger Bricco. In Minocqua, incumbent town chair Mark Hartzheim is challenged by Billy Fried. Dozens of school and town board races are on the ballot.

A number of referendums, including town, municipal and school will be on various ballots. The city of Rhinelander has an advisory referendum on the Premier Resort Area Tax. The town of Cassian in Oneida county, and the Vilas county towns of Cloverland and Conover have referendums. Tomahawk voters will advise on whether the city should assess from properties benefiting public improvements.

White Lake in Langlade county, Phelps in Vilas county and Laona in Forest county and Rib Lake all have school referendums.
