Spring Election Results Find Write-Ins Winning, Dallet Wins, Treasurer Question Rejected

A write-in won Rhinelander's mayoral race, a new state Supreme Court Justice was elected and an effort to remove the Treasurer from Wisconsin government was defeated.

Two Wisconsin Circuit Court judges were vying for an open seat on the state Supreme Court. Milwaukee judge Rebecca Dallet won, with 56% of the vote to Michael Screnock's 44%.

A second statewide question asked voters whether they would like to amend the state Constitution to eliminate the position of state Treasurer. By a 62-38 margin, voters rejected the idea of eliminating the Treasurers position.

In Rhinelander, write-in candidate Chris Frederickson won the mayor's race over council member Alex Young. 781-526. Young was also defeated for the Oneida County board by challenger Bill Liebert.

On the Rhinelander city council, Tom Kelly was re-elected. Oneida County board winners besides Liebert were Russ Fisher, Bob Mott, and Robert Almekinder.

For the Vilas county board, Marv Anderson defeated Mark Rogacki.

In Forest county, incumbent county board chair Paul Millen was defeated by Scott Goode. Other winners were Judy Savard, Tom Tallier, Mike Miller Jill Zagar, Stephen Bunda, and write-in candidate Randy Burl.

For the Woodruff town board, the winners were Ray Christianson and Mike Doud.

School referendums that passed included Prentice and Merrill's , with the referendum at Philips being rejected.

The Tomahawk PRAT  Advisory referendum passed.

David Holperin, Ann Munninghoff-Eshelman, and Ron Counter won Rhinelander school board seats. In Lac du Flambeau schools, Mike Zimmerman and Patricia Mann won board seats.

At Lakeland Union High School, board winners included Pamela M. Carroll. Gary Smith was re-elected to the LdF Area Seat and will serve a three-year term. Barry Seidel, Jr. elected to an at-large seat.

At Three Lakes, the school board winners were Mike Kwaterski and Tom Rulseh.

Phelps school board winners were Colin Snook and Heather Kangas. Town of Phelps board winners were Ronald Buell, Jr. and Debbie Vold. The town of Phelps referendum passed.

St. Germain town board winners were Ted Ritter and Brian Cooper.
