State Grant To Promote New Medieval Faire This Fall

NY Renaissance Faire

Fair maidens and Knights of the Round Table will be seen in the Northwoods this fall.

Tommy O's Playhouse in Hazelhurst is hosting a Medieval Faire the weekend of September 10-13.

Don Sidlowski of Three Lakes wrote the state grant application for the event. He says the these types of Faires are popular and this event would be unique to the Northwoods. He says the closest similar event at least three hours away...

?

"....it's been an ambition of Tommy O, the owner and general manager of the Playhouse to put one of these festivals on for the last couple of years. He's been busy establishing the Playhouse and the other schedule of plays and activities there, so this year we decided to it and we knew we needed some marketing assistance...."

The Faires have been very popular and Playhouse owner Tommy Organiscak thinks it will bring people from many places to the Northwoods...

?

"....they're just a great time and a lot of fun. We don't have anything like that up north. This is a great thing for the community. We hope it's going to be something really, really big. This will be a regional, annual event. It will bring in thousands of people as it goes along...."

The Department of Tourism supplied a $16,000 Joint Effort Marketing Grant to promote the Faire.
