commons.wikimedia.org

It's a week to show thanks for the people leading our young people.

Rhinelander Superintendent Kelli Jacobi says they are noting National Teacher Appreciation Week...

"...we have so many wonderful teachers in our district, almost 200,including certified staff, and teachers make our schools great..."

She says teachers do so much more than teach the basics...

"...but they are really working to help kids learn how to learn. How to gather the knowledge. How to dream big and set goals for themselves and the steps needed to attain those goals..."

Jacobi says the week also is set aside to say thanks to others in the district who are part of the team. Wednesday was School Nurses Day, and also School Nutrition Workers Week. Jacobi says the Nurse works to keep people healthy, and the nutrition workers keep them fed...

"....they do a great job to help the kids expand the foods they're willing to try and they're always working on good nutrition habits..."

President Obama authored a Proclamation adding his thanks during National Teacher Appreciation Week.
