Three Lakes Historical Society Fish Boil-Dedication Is Saturday

Wikimedia Commons

An annual event in Three Lakes has a special meaning this year.

The Three Lakes Historical Society is hosting it's fish boil Saturday, and Society President Bill Hayes says they're going to replicate a traditional Door County fishboil. They've been doing that for 12 years. The fishboil fundraiser will run from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on the museum grounds next to the Demmer Library.

Hayes says midway through the event a special dedication will take place...

"....We're going to hold a ceremonial groundbreaking for our portion of the Demmer Library expansion. That will be done at 6 o'clock. The museum has the fortunate opportunity to be a part of the Demmer Library expansion. We're going to occupy about 500 square feet in that expansion...."

Hayes says they will have more space for exhibits in the new facility along with a climate-controlled area for storage. The event is part of an effort to raise $100,000 to pay for the Society's portion of construction costs. The menu includes fish, potatoes and more. Music will be provided by Anthony Lux and David Walters. Special refreshments provided by Sprecher

Hayes says advanced tickets are available at the museum, BMO Harris Bank in Three Lakes or online at threelakeshistoricalmuseum.org
