Town of Newbold Looking for Private Donations to Fund Outdoor Rec Area

commons.wikimedia.org

The Town of Newbold is working to build an outdoor recreation area, but the committee is asking for sponsors to support the build. The area will offer a hiking/snowshoe trail, disc golf course, birding, wildlife viewing and benches. Committee member Jackie Cody says people can make an unrestricted donation or fund their project through a sponsor.

“…they can support it through a basket or a hole at the course or they can donate toward the hiking and snowshoeing trail or they can donate for a bench that will be placed along the walking trail.”

Cody says a disc golf hole sponsor is $750, $265 dollars for a bench sponsor and $50 for a trail sponsor.  She says a $1,800 kiosk will be in the parking lot as an information center, and says they’re looking for a major donor to sponsor.

Those who donate will have their name on the item they choose to sponsor. Anyone with a donation can contact the Newbold Outdoor Recreation Committee.

Cody says the disc golf course is under construction right now. The walking/hiking and snowshoeing trails are cut into the course.  She says committee is looking for volunteers to help install t-pads and baskets for the disc golf course this spring.
