Three land parcels acquired by tax delinquency received bids and were approved for sale by the Vilas County Forestry committee to the highest bidder.
A house in Arbor Vitae that received no bids previously now had seven ranging from $100 to $16,780. The appraised value was $1,500 due to unsanitary conditions with the county health department declaring it was not livable. Vilas County had a total cost of $9,273 for back taxes, fees, and penalties. The committee approved the high bid with the condition the county health department inspects the home after 60 days to determine if it can be lived in.
A parcel on Lac Vieux Desert appraised at $80 received on bid of $500 which was approved and another parcel appraised at $560 was sold with a bid of $4,500. The committee also approved to reverse the taking of a property after an explanation of lost mail due to a marriage separation provided the owner meets with the county treasurer to make whole all back taxes and penalties.
