She's testing the waters to possibly run again for Governor.
Democratic State Senator Kathleen Vinehout from Alma in western Wisconsin will be in Rhinelander Saturday afternoon to meet the public.
Vinehout is a veteran legislator and ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic nomination in the 2012 Gubernatorial recall election. She lost to Tom Barrett, who then lost to Republican Scott Walker.
She says she's concerned about priorities in the Republican majority budget. She says there was 4 billion more dollars in this budget than the last budget...

"....and yet we are spending more on debt and less on schools and local government, local roads. There's a lot of money being shipped from our local communities to these what I would call privately operated charter schools, independent charter schools and voucher programs. Public money for private schools..."
Vinehout says in the recent $100 million dollar property tax giveback announced by Governor Walker, the schools that benefited mostly were the suburban Milwaukee schools, with little relief generated to rural schools. She also disagrees with Walker's plan to not take federal money for the Medicaid program.
Vinehout will be at the Rhinelander District Library Saturday from 2 until 4 p.m.
Businesswoman and former Doyle Administration official Mary Burke has announced she's running as a Democrat for Governor.
