Warm Fall Weather Results In Longer Building Season

en.wikipedia.org

The extended fall weather is providing builders and others with a longer construction season and the results are showing up at Oneida County Planning and Zoning.

While the weather is turning colder this week, Director Karl Jenrich says they've seen work continue past Thanksgiving due to warmer than normal conditions...

"....the contractors I've talked to, with this warm weather, at least above freezing, they will keep going because they have some carry over work they were going to push until spring but if they have the time and the weather, they're going to try and get it while they can...."

He says final numbers aren't in, but 2015 looks like a good construction year....

".....overall,permits seem to have increased, I don't have the exact numbers. The (number of permits) for this year were ahead of last year as of October. I'm curious to see what the overall numbers are going to be...."

He says some interest has come in about doing work on existing buildings after the state budget changed some rules. Jenrich says workers will keep working until the weather makes it too difficult to continue.
