The Northern National art exhibit opens Tuesday night at Nicolet College.  It includes artwork from all over the country…that ranges from oil paintings to quilts.

Natalie Jablonski spoke with judge Linda Benedict-Jones…from the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh…about her approach to jurying a large exhibit.

She selected the works in the show, whittling down more than 500 submissions to about 90.

There’s a call for entries for the Wisconsin Regional Arts Program, also known as WRAP, to be held at Nicolet College in June. Katy Ralph is the gallery director at Nicolet College, and she encourages all artists over the age of 14 to send in their original work.

"And that is for anybody who does any kind of art: 2 dimensional, 3 dimensional. They don’t need to be a practicing artist, and may never have shown their work before, but we just want people to get their work on the walls."

There's just over a week left to submit entries for the Northern National art exhibit at Nicolet College.

Gallery Director Katy Ralph says the show solicits work from around the country…in a variety of subjects and media.  A judge chooses about 80 pieces to for the show.
